Lakeside Beach

2010 / Lakeside, MI

This private residence overlooks Lake Michigan, set back from the bluff and separated with an expansive lawn. The house has an informal connection to the edge of the bluff by the lawn. The client wished to experience the bluff, the view, sand and water without interrupting the relationship that the residence has in the lawn. We created this outdoor room suspended over the bluff to achieve this objectives. With careful planning Collective achieved this as well as access down to the beach with a lower respite in the same language.
